02 Y A C H T S F O R S A L E BURGESS NEWS WWW.BURGESSYACHTS.COM fBURGESS DELIVERS SECOND TIME SALES FOR CLIENTS
Participating in the management of a yacht from build through to sale is a prestigious gift bestowed upon us time and time again by clients who trust our management skills. This year Burgess had the honour of selling two of its Central Agency listings for the second time. Firstly the 48m Australian Oceanfast AUSTRALIS joined the Burgess sales listings in 2010, where she was rapidly sold to her first owner. Fast forward seven years and Burgess has once again secured the sale representing both the buyer and seller. She has also proved a popular member of the Burgess charter Central Agency listings. Secondly, the 50m Heesen superyacht ROCKET was sold for the second time too. After finding her first buyer in 2011 and overseeing the final stages of the build, Burgess operationally managed her in the private sector before finding a new buyer in 2017 and completing the sale.
Also, ROCKET has been sold to a longstanding Burgess client, and we are pleased to announce that this highly customised yacht will be entering the charter market for the first time under her new ownership.
ffBURGESS BOWLED OVER AT PENDENNIS CHARITY CRICKET DAY
Burgess led the broker’s team in this year’s inaugural Superyacht Ashes, organised by the prestigious UK shipyard, Pendennis. The yard recently received accolades at the World Superyacht Awards for the refit of AQUILA (ex CAKEWALK) and is well known for launching the 55m expedition yacht STEEL and the world’s largest sailing catamaran, 44m HEMISPHERE. The industry-wide event saw teams from the shipyard, media plus designers and surveyors competing in Cornwall in fabulous weather. Despite
the abundance of scones, cream and jam, the Broker’s team finished, rather respectably, third. They also walked away with awards for the highest score posted on the day and best batsman. Well done team B!
ALL EYES ON ASIA
As the Asia office goes from strength to strength, Burgess appoints senior broker Dominic Millman as managing director Asia.
A valued member of the London team, he will continue his duties as sales broker in the UK alongside his new role. Dominic’s responsibilities will now include leading the overall development of Burgess in Asia, coordinating the company’s global brokerage resources and expertise to personally support and advise Asia-based clients.
“I am delighted to work with an already well-established and highly talented team,” comments Dominic.
Dominic has been one of the most active large yacht brokers in the region for many years with a strong portfolio of sales to Asian clients, and with 14 years of brokerage experience in the superyacht industry, he will offer a wealth of knowledge across multiple disciplines.
“We have selected a very strong and experienced global team to bring the best of our expertise in all aspects of superyachting to the region”, commented Jonathan Beckett, Group CEO of Burgess. “We are taking a long term approach to developing the market in Asia”.
